AI images in romance and job scams
The photo is the bait. The scam is the hurry, the secrecy, and the request for money or a login.
A profile photo that fails the hand and text checks is a warning. A profile photo that passes them is not safety. Scams use real stolen photos as well as generated ones. The picture is there to make the next message feel like a person.
The pattern around the photo is more stable than the pixels. A match who cannot meet, a recruiter who skips the company domain, a request to move the conversation off the platform immediately, and any ask for money, gift cards, or a code from your phone. Those are the scam. The portrait is decoration.
Still look at the portrait, because a generated face is a reason to stop. Then look at the account history and the ask. If a voice note arrives, use the voice checks as well: a perfect reading of a script, with no room and no breath, fits the same pattern.
Practice the visual half on the image quiz. The quiz will not teach you to trust a stranger. It will teach you not to trust a face just because it looks finished.
